Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on the successful conclusion of the party’s National Convention held in Abuja. The governor, who led Ondo State delegates to the convention, described the peaceful and seamless conduct of the exercise as a positive development for the ruling party.
Governor Aiyedatiwa also congratulated the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and other members of the National Working Committee, who were returned through a consensus process at the convention held at Eagle Square, Abuja. Reports on the convention say Yilwatda retained his position as national chairman, while Ajibola Basiru also emerged again as national secretary.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, the governor said the orderly process, unity among delegates and reaffirmation of shared ideals reflected the maturity of the APC and the strength of its internal democracy. He also commended the National Working Committee, the Convention Planning Committee, delegates and party stakeholders for their discipline and commitment.
Aiyedatiwa added that Ondo State would build on the momentum generated by the convention through deeper grassroots mobilisation, wider development across communities and continued efforts to ensure that the dividends of democracy reach the people. He also praised the conduct of Ondo delegates who participated in the convention. The statement was dated March 28, 2026.
