The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has dismissed reactions trailing a judgment of the Federal High Court that reportedly barred him from contesting the next governorship election in the state.
Reacting to the development, Aiyedatiwa described the public reactions and discussions surrounding the ruling as unnecessary distractions.
The governor explained that several narratives circulating on social media had misled the public, stressing that he had never indicated any intention to contest another governorship election.
According to him, there is currently no official timetable for any governorship election in the state, adding that he has not taken any step suggesting such an ambition.
Aiyedatiwa urged members of the public to disregard misinformation and focus on the ongoing efforts of his administration to deliver governance and development across the state.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Ondo State and maintaining focus on policies and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of residents.
