Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has visited communities affected by recent attacks in Akure North Local Government Area, assuring residents that urgent steps are being taken to tackle insecurity and protect lives and property.
According to reports, the governor visited Imafon, Igushin and Ilado following the recent deadly attacks in the area. During the visit, he condemned the killings and pledged decisive action against criminal elements operating within the affected communities.
Aiyedatiwa disclosed that more than 100 suspected kidnappers have been arrested, detained and charged to court as part of ongoing efforts to curb insecurity across the state. He said security operations are continuing to flush out criminal elements hiding in forest enclaves.
The governor further explained that security agencies are now working closely with local hunters and vigilante groups to track down the criminals. He also announced plans to establish Amotekun posts in the troubled communities and strengthen security presence across vulnerable locations.
He assured residents that his administration remains committed to restoring peace in the affected areas and preventing further attacks.
