The Vice Chairman of Amasiri Town Union, Maduka Amadi, has called on the Ebonyi State Government to urgently implement the recommendations of the committee constituted to investigate the long-standing land dispute in Amasiri community.
Speaking on the matter, Amadi stressed that the community has been anticipating decisive government action following the submission of the committee’s report. According to him, timely implementation of the recommendations would help restore peace, promote unity, and prevent further escalation of tensions within the area.
The land dispute, which has reportedly affected relationships among stakeholders in the community, prompted the state government to set up a committee to thoroughly examine the claims and propose fair resolutions. Community leaders say the committee’s findings represent a critical step toward lasting reconciliation.
Amadi emphasized that justice and transparency in handling the issue would reinforce public confidence in the state’s conflict-resolution mechanisms. He also appealed to residents to remain calm and law-abiding while awaiting official government action.
Observers note that land-related disputes remain a recurring challenge in several communities across the state, often requiring proactive mediation and firm administrative decisions to prevent breakdown of law and order.
