The All Progressives Congress has released its final list of cleared aspirants for the Rivers State House of Assembly primary election scheduled for Wednesday. In the list, no loyalist of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, was cleared.
Recall that the party had initially disqualified all 65 aspirants, including 32 of them adopted by the governor for the primary election.
Prominent among Fubara’s loyalists, earlier disqualified were the three lawmakers who stood with him during the crisis that rocked the state, led by former factional Speaker Victor Oko-Jumbo and a former caretaker committee chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Chibuike Ihunwo. Oko-Jumbo and many others had appeared before the APC screening appeal committee headed by Abdul Mahmud, which the party constituted to entertain petitions.
