The All Progressives Congress has unveiled a media committee as part of its preparations for the 2026 national convention.
The move is part of a broader strategy by the ruling party to ensure effective communication, publicity, and information management before and during the convention.
The convention, scheduled to hold in Abuja, is expected to attract thousands of delegates and will culminate in the emergence of new members of the party’s National Working Committee.
Party officials said the media committee will be responsible for coordinating press coverage, managing public messaging, and engaging with stakeholders across different media platforms.
The development comes amid intensified preparations by the party, which has already constituted several committees, including a central coordination committee and other sub-committees to handle logistics, screening, and operations.
The APC leadership noted that the committees are critical to ensuring a smooth, transparent, and successful convention, describing the event as a major milestone in the party’s internal democratic process.
Political observers say the establishment of a media committee underscores the importance of strategic communication in modern political processes, especially for large-scale events like national conventions.
