Church Donates MRI Machine To Abia State Government

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has donated a state-of-the-art Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine to the Abia State Government. The donation, which is part of the church’s ongoing Christian Social Responsibility (CSR) program, was officially handed over to the state authorities at a ceremony held in Umuahia. The move is aimed at bridging the gap in advanced medical diagnostics and improving the quality of healthcare available to residents of the state.

The General Overseer of the RCCG, through a high-ranking representative, expressed the church’s commitment to supporting the government’s efforts in the health sector. According to the church, the provision of such critical medical equipment is essential for the early detection and management of complex health conditions, which can often go undiagnosed due to a lack of specialized tools. The church has a long history of investing in health infrastructure across the country, having previously donated dialysis centers and other high-tech medical equipment to various state hospitals.

On his part, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State commended the RCCG for its generous gesture, noting that the donation would significantly reduce the need for residents to travel long distances for advanced diagnostic services. He assured the church that the equipment would be properly maintained and utilized for the benefit of all citizens, regardless of their religious affiliation. The Governor also called on other religious and corporate organizations to follow the church's example in partnering with the government to improve the social and economic wellbeing of the people.
