Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has appointed Dr. Dagogo S.A. Wokoma as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Barrister Sunny Ewule as his Chief of Staff (CoS) with immediate effect.
The appointments were announced on Thursday in a special government statement signed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, in Port Harcourt. Wokoma and Ewule are expected to be sworn in at 2:00 p.m. today at the Executive Council Chamber in the Government House.
Dr. Wokoma replaces Benibo Anabraba as SSG, while Ewule takes over from Edison Ehie as Chief of Staff. No official reasons have yet been given for the removal of the former officeholders.
The moves come amid ongoing political recalibration in the state following earlier tensions between Fubara and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly loyal to former governor Nyesom Wike. After President Bola Tinubu intervened to halt impeachment proceedings against the governor and his deputy, several political changes have followed.
