Gombe gov wins APC senatorial ticket

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Gombe State Primary Election Committee, Labiru Musa, has officially declared Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, retired Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohammed Ahmed, and Jerry Damara as winners of the party’s 2026 senatorial primary elections in Gombe State. Speaking during a press briefing held at the Press Centre in Gombe on Tuesday, Musa said the direct primary elections conducted across the state on Monday were peaceful, orderly, and transparent.

The exercise complied fully with the directives of the National Working Committee of the APC and allowed grassroots party members to participate directly in the process. “Operational transparency was strictly secured through a rigorous, standardised layout,” Musa said.

He added that the committee enforced a mandatory accreditation process beginning from 8:00 am at ward levels across the state.
