INEC Ondo Gets New Resident Electoral Commissioner
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Ondo State has announced the assumption of duty of a new Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Mutiu Olaleke Agboke. The commission said Agboke officially resumed duty on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Ondo State headquarters in Akure.

According to the commission, Dr. Agboke is a seasoned legal scholar and election management expert from Abeokuta, Ogun State. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2006 and previously served as a member of the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission between 2012 and 2016.

INEC further noted that Agboke has served as Resident Electoral Commissioner in Ondo, Oyo and Osun states, where he supervised the 2019 and 2023 general elections. The commission described him as a man known for integrity, transparency and professionalism.

His assumption of duty in Ondo follows his recent redeployment from Osun State by INEC as part of preparations for upcoming electoral activities. The commission said it is confident in his ability to strengthen electoral integrity and deliver credible, free and fair elections in Ondo State.
