The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has released the first batch of results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. The board said the results released so far cover 632,788 candidates who participated in the first day of the examination held on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
JAMB, in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, said candidates can now check their results by sending UTMERESULT through SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number they used during registration.
The board explained that, for now, candidates can only view their scores, as the printing of official result slips has not yet been enabled. It added that additional batches of results would be released progressively as marking and processing continue.
To check the result, candidates are expected to ensure they have airtime on their registered phone line, compose UTMERESULT as one word, and send it to either 55019 or 66019. JAMB also advised candidates to use only its official channels for result access.
The examination body also warned candidates against manipulating or falsifying result messages received from its official platforms, describing such acts as a serious criminal offence. JAMB said it had already taken action against some offenders involved in result falsification using AI and other electronic means.
