The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Inter-Parliamentary Affairs, Jimoh Ibrahim, has praised Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his recent visit to the United Kingdom, describing the trip as timely.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the Ondo South senator noted that the visit came at a period of shifting global alliances, stressing the importance of Nigeria remaining actively engaged on the international stage.
He said the president’s meeting with King Charles III reflects the longstanding diplomatic relationship between Nigeria and the UK.
According to Ibrahim, the engagement is expected to further strengthen cooperation between both countries in key areas such as trade, investment, and security.
He emphasized that Nigeria’s participation in global diplomacy is essential for economic growth, international partnerships, and national development.
The senator also expressed optimism that the outcomes of the visit would translate into tangible benefits for the country, particularly in attracting foreign investment and enhancing bilateral relations.
