Keyamo hails Tinubu, Oborevwori after APC Delta primaries

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has commended President Bola Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori following the conclusion of the All Progressives Congress senatorial primaries in in a public address released after the primaries on his X handle on Tuesday, Keyamo congratulated the party’s senatorial candidates and praised the conduct of the exercise across the state. “I wish to profoundly congratulate Senator Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta North), Senator Ede Dafinone (Delta Central and Senator Joel-Onowapo Thomas (Delta South) for their resounding victories,” he indicated. “Their victories were fully deserved. ” He indicated the primaries were marked by strong participation from party members at ward level, insisting the process reflected genuine grassroots involvement.

“Yesterday’s primaries saw a large turnout of the truly organic voters and members of the APC in Delta State voting at various Ward levels in an exercise that was largely free and fair,” Keyamo showed. from him, the exercise stands out as one of the most credible internal elections held by the party in the state since its formation. “I can state unequivocally that this is the best primaries organised by the Party in the State since its inception,”. Keyamo also used the opportunity to call for unity within the party, urging those who lost to accept the outcome and support the winners ahead of future elections.

“Now is a time for healing and reconciliation,” he showed. “I urge all those who have lost gallantly to take it on their chin and embrace the victors for the unity of the Party. ” He encouraged the winners to be magnanimous and inclusive in their leadership approach.

“I also urge the victors to be magnanimous in victory and extend hands of fellowship and brotherliness to the losers,” he indicated. Commending political leadership in the state, Keyamo praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for what he described as effective and inclusive governance. “I also wish to commend our amiable leader, the Governor of Delta State; the one and only Elder Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori, for providing purposeful leadership,” he showed. He further applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for strengthening internal democracy within the APC and ensuring a level playing field in the primaries.
