A quiet political shift is unfolding in Lagos State as new aspirants, including young professionals and grassroots politicians, emerge to challenge sitting House of Assembly members ahead of the forthcoming All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries.
The contest spans key constituencies such as Agege Constituency I, Alimosho Constituency I, Ikeja Constituency I, Lagos Island Constituency I, Lagos Mainland Constituency II, Mushin Constituency I, among others.
In Agege Constituency I, the race opened up following the move by the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, to contest a seat in the House of Representatives, with aspirants already positioning for the ticket.
In Alimosho Constituency I, new entrants are challenging incumbent Lukman Orelope, while other constituencies including Ikeja, Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island, and Mushin are also witnessing rising political contests between fresh aspirants and sitting lawmakers.
With the APC primaries approaching, the development signals a growing wave of internal competition and political realignment across Lagos State.
