The Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) has said its current operational framework strongly aligns with the proposed establishment of state police in Nigeria.
The agency noted that its security model focuses on grassroots surveillance, intelligence gathering, and rapid response to emerging threats within communities across Lagos State.
According to the LNSA, the approach allows officers to work closely with residents and local stakeholders, making it easier to identify suspicious activities early and respond promptly before situations escalate.
Officials of the agency explained that this structure reflects the core objectives of state policing, which aims to decentralise security operations and strengthen community-based law enforcement.
They further stated that the agency’s activities have contributed to improving safety across neighbourhoods in Lagos by providing timely information to relevant security agencies and supporting crime prevention efforts.
The LNSA reiterated its commitment to enhancing community security and pledged continued collaboration with other security institutions to maintain peace and order in the state.
