Team Nigeria have ramped up preparations for their Davis Cup World Group II clash with Uzbekistan by shifting their training base from the National Stadium, Surulere to the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan, which will host the February 7–8 tie.
The tournament, run by the International Tennis Federation, is the top international men’s team event in tennis and is arranged in tiers and World Group II is a fiercely contested level where countries fight for a place in World Group I.
The Uzbek team arrived Lagos on Sunday and took to the court for their first training session on Monday.
Report revealed their delegation came with three players and four officials, while their star man, Khumoyun Sultanov, was expected to link up the same day after winning an ITF M15 Kuwait title in Kuwait.
