Supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State on Wednesday staged a solidarity walk in support of President Bola Tinubu, with Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa leading the exercise in Akure. The event, tagged “TinubuDatiwa Half a Million Walk 2027,” was held at the Ondo State Sports Complex.
The programme was organised by Kehinde Akinrotoye, former Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Sports and Coordinator of the TinubuDatiwa Support Group. Speaking at the event, Governor Aiyedatiwa described the initiative as a commendable effort aimed at mobilising support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
According to the governor, the walk forms part of a series of activities lined up by various support groups in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections. He said his participation reflected his commitment to the cause and his solidarity with the organisers.
Aiyedatiwa also expressed satisfaction with the turnout, which he said included government officials, civil servants, artisans and civil society members. He added that Akure was only a coordinating centre, stressing that the real mobilisation work must continue at the grassroots across units, wards and local government areas.
The governor expressed confidence that Ondo State would deliver strong support for President Tinubu in 2027, while the organisers said the walk was designed to galvanise backing for the President across the state’s 18 local government areas and three senatorial districts.
