Ondo Police Deploy Security to JAMB CBT Centres Across State
The Ondo State Police Command says it has put in place comprehensive security measures to ensure a safe, secure and hitch-free conduct of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Computer-Based Test examinations across the state, beginning Thursday, April 16, 2026. JAMB has officially confirmed that the 2026 UTME commenced on that date.

According to the Command, adequate security personnel and operational assets have been deployed to all JAMB CBT centres in Ondo State as part of a coordinated security arrangement aimed at protecting candidates, examination officials and facilities, while also maintaining public order throughout the examination period.

The Command said the measure is in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, who emphasised the need for strong security presence at examination centres nationwide to prevent disruption, examination malpractice and other criminal activities. The Nigeria Police Force also announced a broader nationwide security deployment for the 2026 UTME.

It added that officers have been strategically positioned for access control, crowd management, traffic regulation and rapid response to any emerging situation within and around the centres. Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Tactical Teams have also been directed to intensify patrols and surveillance in their respective jurisdictions.

The Ondo State Police Command reassured candidates, parents and guardians of its commitment to the protection of lives and property during the examination period. Candidates were advised to remain orderly, comply with all examination guidelines and cooperate with security personnel deployed to the centres.

Parents and guardians were also urged to avoid overcrowding examination venues and to strictly follow security advisories to ensure smooth operations. The Command said it remains committed to providing a secure environment for lawful activities across the state and will continue working with relevant stakeholders to achieve that goal.

Members of the public were further encouraged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or other security agencies.
