The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in the August 15, 2026 Osun State election, Najeem Salaam, has promised to tackle the electricity challenges facing the state if elected governor.
Salaam made the pledge while speaking on Oro Oselu, a political programme aired on Uniq FM, Ilesa, Osun State.
According to a statement from his media office in Osogbo, the former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly said his campaign would focus on governance, development, and practical policies aimed at improving the lives of residents.
He noted that stable electricity is vital for economic growth, industrial development, youth employment, and the survival of small and medium-scale businesses across the state.
Salaam added that, if elected, his administration would explore partnerships and innovative energy solutions to improve power generation and distribution in Osun State.
He also urged political actors to focus on ideas and people-centred policies rather than insults and distractions, saying Osun residents deserve leadership built on vision, peace, and sustainable development.
Meanwhile, political parties and candidates in Osun State have continued to unveil their plans ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
