Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of Muyiwa Adetola as the Accountant-General and Permanent Secretary of the State Treasury Office, a key position responsible for overseeing the state’s financial operations.
The announcement, made through an official statement from the Lagos State Government, noted that the appointment reflects confidence in Adetola’s experience and capacity to ensure sound financial management and accountability within the treasury.
As Accountant-General and Permanent Secretary of the Treasury Office, Adetola will play a central role in budgeting, financial reporting, and strengthening fiscal governance across ministries and agencies in Africa’s fastest-growing megacity.
Governor Sanwo-Olu’s approval comes amid ongoing efforts to enhance fiscal discipline, transparency and efficient use of public resources in Lagos State’s expanded development agenda.
Muyiwa Adetola succeeds the outgoing treasury boss and is expected to assume duties with immediate effect.
