Security agencies in Ondo State have stepped up coordinated patrols and joint operations as part of renewed efforts to combat insecurity and restore public confidence.
The operations involve the Nigeria Police Force working alongside other security outfits, including the military, civil defence, and local security networks.
According to security authorities, the patrols are part of a broader strategy focused on intelligence gathering, surveillance, and rapid response to criminal threats across the state.
In recent weeks, the police command has intensified joint patrols, stop-and-search operations, and targeted raids, particularly in vulnerable areas experiencing security challenges.
Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, noted that the command is adopting intelligence-driven policing and collaborative strategies to dismantle criminal networks and prevent further attacks.
The coordinated patrols also extend to forest areas and boundary communities, where security operatives conduct combing operations to flush out suspected kidnappers and other criminal elements.
Additionally, the Ondo State Government had earlier directed intensified statewide patrols involving multiple agencies, reinforcing a joint security framework across communities.
Authorities say the collaboration between security agencies and local vigilante groups remains critical in improving intelligence sharing and ensuring swift response to threats.
Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and support security efforts by providing timely and credible information to law enforcement agencies.
