The family of veteran gospel singer Deborah Fasoyin has dismissed rumours circulating on social media claiming that she has died.
Her son debunked the reports, stressing that the singer, widely known for the evergreen song “Odun N Lo Sopin,” is alive and in good health.
The rumour had sparked concern among fans of the gospel musician and members of the Christian community, as the song remains one of the most recognised end-of-year hymns in many Yoruba churches. The track gained prominence through the CAC Good Women Choir, which Fasoyin led for many years.
Reacting to the viral reports, the singer’s son urged the public to disregard the claims, describing them as false and misleading.
He also appealed to social media users to verify information before sharing it online, noting that the spread of unconfirmed reports could cause unnecessary panic among fans and well-wishers.
“Odun N Lo Sopin,” released decades ago, remains a widely played song during the closing days of the year across many Nigerian homes and churches, making Fasoyin a well-known figure in gospel music circles.
Family members and close associates have therefore called on the public to ignore the rumour and continue to pray for the veteran singer’s health and longevity.
