Nigeria women's national football team will now be decamped following the postponement of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations.
The team, led by head coach Justine Madugu, returned to Nigeria on Wednesday after playing two international friendly matches against the Cameroon women's national football team in Yaoundé last week as part of preparations for the continental tournament.
The African champions had earlier been scheduled to travel to Morocco for the final phase of their training camp ahead of the competition.
However, the postponement of the tournament has forced the team’s technical crew to suspend the camping programme, with players expected to return to their respective clubs until a new date for the competition is announced.
Officials say the decision to decamp is aimed at allowing the players maintain match fitness with their clubs while awaiting further directives from the football authorities.
