President Bola Tinubu, members of the Federal Executive Council, 32 governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, and 8,453 delegates from across the country are expected to participate in the party’s National Convention holding on Friday, March 27, and Saturday, March 28, 2026, in Abuja. The convention is expected to produce a new set of party leaders.
The disclosure was made by the Co-Chairman of the Media Sub-Committee for the convention and Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during the APC World Media Briefing held at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja. He said the gathering would bring together delegates from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory for leadership elections, policy engagement and party transition activities.
According to reports, top party chieftains at the national, zonal, state and ward levels are also expected at the event. Among those present at the media briefing were the Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa; the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo; Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare; and Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, alongside other senior party figures.
Party leaders say all arrangements have been concluded for a smooth and credible convention at Eagle Square, Abuja, as the ruling party seeks to consolidate its leadership structure ahead of the next political cycle.
