Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of 65 ambassadors-designate and high commissioners to Nigerian diplomatic missions across the world.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. According to the statement, the postings include 31 career diplomats and 34 non-career ambassadors assigned to various countries and international organisations, including the United Nations.
Among the prominent appointees is former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode, who has been posted to Germany, while former presidential aide Reno Omokri will serve in Mexico.
Former Minister of Interior Abdulrahman Dambazau has been deployed to China, while businessman and senator Jimoh Ibrahim will represent Nigeria as Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
Other notable appointments include former Minister of Health Isaac Adewole to Canada, former Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to Spain, and former Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to Greece.
Also on the list are Aminu Dalhatu to the United Kingdom, Ayodele Oke to France, and Lateef Kayode Are to the United States.
The ambassadors were earlier screened and confirmed by the Nigerian Senate in December 2025, paving the way for their deployment to various diplomatic missions worldwide.

In total, 65 ambassadors were posted, including 34 non-career and 31 career diplomats, to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic presence globally.
