The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed reports suggesting a division within the Peoples Democratic Party.
Speaking with journalists in Abuja after inspecting ongoing and completed infrastructure projects across the capital city, Wike maintained that the party remains united as it prepares for its national convention scheduled for March 29 and 30, 2026.
Addressing concerns about internal disagreements, the minister stated that differences of opinion among party members do not amount to factionalisation.
He acknowledged that while some grievances exist within the party, reconciliation efforts are ongoing and can continue alongside preparations for the convention.
Wike expressed confidence that the PDP would successfully conduct its convention, noting that internal dialogue and engagement remain key to resolving disputes.
Political observers say his remarks come amid ongoing tensions within the party, as stakeholders continue efforts to maintain unity ahead of future elections.
