Entrepreneur and philanthropist, Bukunyi Olagbegi, has declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat of the Owo/Ose Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He made the declaration after consultations with political stakeholders, community leaders, and youths across the constituency.
Olagbegi said his decision is driven by a commitment to deepen development and expand community-focused service delivery, noting that his work over the years in business and philanthropy has always centered on the people.
Security, he said, remains a major concern in the constituency, especially for farmers and traders who now face risks that limit their daily activities. He stressed that no meaningful progress can be achieved without first addressing insecurity, which he described as central to economic stability and social development.
He also outlined priorities around youth empowerment, job creation, and agricultural support, adding that improving access to opportunities for young people and farmers will be key to his legislative agenda.
On April 1, 2026, Olagbegi hosted the maiden edition of “Owo Praise the Lord,” a worship gathering held at the Methodist Primary School Field, Fajuyi Road, Owo, which attracted over 7,000 participants from within and outside Ondo State.
