Fire Service Controller-General Returns To Home State For Royal Blessing
In a display of cultural heritage and professional appreciation, the Controller-General (CG) of the Federal Fire Service (FFS) made a ceremonial return to his home state on Monday, April 6, 2026. The visit, characterized by a significant motorcade, was organized to pay homage to traditional institutions and seek spiritual and royal guidance as he navigates the complexities of national fire safety management.

The CG’s itinerary included visits to the palaces of top-tier traditional rulers, where he was received with fanfare by community leaders and local stakeholders. During the audiences, the Fire Service boss expressed his gratitude for the foundational support of his community, noting that the values instilled in him during his youth have been instrumental in his ascent to the pinnacle of the federal paramilitary agency.

"I have come back to my roots to draw strength and wisdom from our fathers," the CG stated during a palace briefing. "The task of protecting Nigerian lives and property from fire disasters is a heavy one, and I believe that beginning this phase of my leadership with royal blessings is essential for collective success." He also used the opportunity to sensitize local residents on fire prevention strategies, particularly during the current dry season.

Traditional rulers in the state took turns to commend the CG for his appointment, describing him as a worthy ambassador of the state. They urged him to remain professional, reform the service for greater efficiency, and ensure that the Federal Fire Service becomes more responsive to emergencies across all 36 states. The visit concluded with a brief inspection of local fire stations in the state capital, where the CG promised to look into infrastructural upgrades and equipment procurement to bolster the command’s firefighting capabilities.
