Sanwo-Olu Seeks Tech-Driven Legal Practice
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has urged legal practitioners and stakeholders in the judiciary to embrace technology to enhance the administration of justice. Speaking at a legal forum on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, the Governor highlighted that the digital transformation of the legal sector is no longer an option but a necessity for a modern megacity.

Sanwo-Olu noted that integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital filing systems, and virtual court proceedings would significantly reduce the backlog of cases and improve the ease of doing business in Lagos. He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to providing the necessary infrastructure to support a tech-driven judiciary, including the ongoing upgrade of courtrooms across the state.

"The world is changing, and the legal profession must lead the charge in innovation," Sanwo-Olu stated. "By adopting tech-driven solutions, we ensure that justice is not only served but served efficiently. Our goal is to make Lagos a hub where legal disputes are resolved with the speed and transparency that the 21st century demands."

The Governor also encouraged young lawyers to equip themselves with digital skills, noting that the future of law lies at the intersection of traditional advocacy and emerging technology. The call was well-received by members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) present, who acknowledged the state's efforts in judicial reform while calling for sustained investment in power and internet connectivity to support these digital goals.
