President Bola Tinubu has expressed appreciation to Nigerians for their prayers, goodwill messages and support as he marked his 74th birthday. In a personally signed message, the President thanked citizens for their patriotism, solidarity and continued backing of his administration.
Tinubu also appreciated those who placed goodwill messages in newspapers and paid for airtime on radio and television to celebrate him. He specifically thanked First Lady Oluremi Tinubu for her kind words and Vice President Kashim Shettima for his tribute on the occasion.
The President said he chose to mark this year’s birthday in a low-key manner, in keeping with his tradition of reflecting the mood of the nation. He noted that although the country has faced challenges since the beginning of his administration’s reform programme, there are now encouraging signs that the sacrifices made are not in vain, even with temporary setbacks linked to the ongoing Middle East crisis.
As his administration approaches its third anniversary, Tinubu said he remains convinced that Nigeria will overcome its present difficulties and build a brighter future for citizens and generations to come. He called on Nigerians to continue working together in pursuit of a stronger, more prosperous and more resilient nation.
