President Bola Tinubu has called on traditional rulers across the country to guide their subjects with wisdom, promote dialogue, discourage violence, and foster unity among diverse communities amid growing security and social cohesion challenges.
The President, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, made the call at the launch of the autobiography of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation and former Finance Minister, Olu Falae, held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Tinubu said the role of traditional rulers has become even more important at this critical point in the nation’s history, noting that peace and security should not be seen as the sole responsibility of government. He stressed that building a stable and united country requires collective action and stronger collaboration at every level of society.
