Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has reduced its gantry price for Premium Motor Spirit, also known as petrol, to N1,200 per litre, while its coastal price has been fixed at N1,153 per litre. The company announced the new pricing in a statement released on Thursday, March 26, 2026.
The latest adjustment represents a N75 reduction from the previous ex-gantry price of N1,275 per litre. Reports say the refinery had earlier raised the product price from N1,175 per litre on March 13 to N1,245 on March 20, before increasing it again to N1,275 on March 21.
According to the refinery, the price review is part of a downward adjustment in its pricing structure and is expected to influence fuel supply costs across distribution channels, including depots and retail outlets. The company linked the development to continuing tension in the Middle East, which has kept global oil prices volatile.
The reduction could ease pressure on the downstream market and may lead to some adjustment in supply costs, although any direct impact on pump prices will depend on marketers and retailers. That last point is an inference from the refinery’s statement about downstream distribution costs, rather than a confirmed nationwide pump-price cut.
