Residents of Imala Ward 14 in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State have appealed to the state government to urgently intervene in the rehabilitation of a severely deteriorated road within their community.
The affected road, which stretches approximately 7.5 kilometres across the town, has reportedly fallen into a state of disrepair, making movement difficult for residents and hindering economic activities in the area.
In a statement issued by the community and signed by its development coordinator, Steven Adetomiwa, residents expressed concern that the poor condition of the road has slowed down development and negatively impacted daily life.
They noted that the road, originally constructed decades ago, has not received adequate maintenance over time and now requires urgent reconstruction to restore accessibility.
The community leaders called on Governor Dapo Abiodun to prioritize the project, emphasizing that improved road infrastructure would significantly boost growth and connectivity in the area.
They also highlighted their support for the current administration in previous elections, expressing hope that their appeal would be considered as part of efforts to deliver democratic dividends to the people.
Residents believe that reconstructing the road would enhance transportation, stimulate local commerce, and improve overall living conditions within the community.
